
Green Cheek Conure
Green Cheek Conures are parrots that are about 10 inches in size. The Green Cheek Conure has dark brown eyes with wide white eye rings and black beaks. There is a dark gray or blackish coloration area at the top of their heads. Their ear coverts are grayish and as their name implies, they have green cheeks. They usually have olive green body and wings that have navy feathers at the edge and maroon colored tail. These conure species have life expectancy of about 25 years. They are found in the west-central and southern part of Mato Grosso, Brazil, northern and eastern parts of Bolivia up to the northwestern part of Argentina. Conure birds can make great pets. They have great characteristics like being playful and affectionate. They usually enjoy being petted and snuggled for long periods of time. They are active birds and they will want to hang, hop and play. It is also important that you spend time with them to interact and socialize whether to simply hang out or teach few new tricks. Your home should be a safe haven if you let it out of the cage. This means you have to remove toxic plants, switch off appliances and you need to supervise the bird. You can give them toys to keep them busy. Green Cheek Conure CagesIf you have plenty of time to socialize and interact with your Green Cheek Conure pet, you can get a cage by the size of 18 x 18 inches and 24 inches high with half inch bar spacing. However, if you don't have enough time to spend with the pet, you would need a bigger cage. You would also need to give the pet a company. Two conures by then would need a larger space to play around.
